Martin's Romance

Is the musical story of a man whose unrequited love brought the songbird out from under his vocal chords.

Inspired by the amazing recordings of Nat King Cole, Mark Murphy, Frank Sinatra, Patti Page and many other of the great popular vocalists of the 20th century.

The core trio with Dave Devries on guitar and Sam Dobson on double bass (can be supplemented with a larger combo with drums and horns) seeks to reimagine and breath fresh life into classic and obscure selections of the Great American songbook using a jazz combo sound they are able to groove hard with elements of Brazilian and boogaloo rhythms tainting a Dean Martin classic.

The group established its in 2021 with decades of music making between each member having worked with many of the finest jazz and soul artists in the scene.

The musical ambience the group conjures is mesmerises whilst taking you on a romantic and pulsating journey authentically placing you in another time whilst igniting the air in the room!
